Short answer

No. Mobile Message only supports SMS, which is plain text. We do not support MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service).

Why MMS is not supported

MMS is a completely different technology to SMS and is not well suited to business messaging. The biggest issue is cost. MMS is typically around 10 times more expensive than SMS, which makes it very poor value for most businesses.

In addition to the higher cost, MMS delivery is less reliable. Messages can display differently depending on the phone or mobile network, and in some cases may fail to deliver without clear feedback. Because of this, MMS has very low adoption for business use compared to SMS.

SMS vs MMS for business messaging

SMS is fast, reliable, and cost-effective. It works consistently across all phones and networks and is widely trusted by customers.

MMS, on the other hand, is expensive, inconsistent, and rarely used by businesses. Paying roughly ten times the price for an MMS message usually delivers very little extra value, which is why we have chosen not to support it.

What Mobile Message supports instead

Mobile Message is designed around plain text SMS. This includes support for two-way messaging, personalisation, templates, scheduling, and links.

If you need to share images, videos, or documents, the recommended approach is to include a website link in your SMS message. Recipients can tap the link and view all related content on your website.

Why links are a better alternative

Including a link in an SMS keeps costs low while giving you far more flexibility. You can display multiple images, videos, or documents, control the layout and branding, and update content without sending another message.

This approach works reliably on all devices and avoids the high cost and limitations of MMS, which is why it is the preferred option for business messaging.

Mobile Message focuses on SMS because it delivers the best balance of reliability, cost, and reach for businesses.
