Message Statuses

Message statuses show where each SMS is in the delivery process. As a message moves through our system and the mobile networks, its status will update automatically.

You can view the status of each message in the History section of your account.

Pending means the message is in our internal sending queue and is waiting to be processed. This usually lasts only a short time before the status changes. You may see messages stay in this state for longer when sending very large batches.

Sent means the message has been passed to the mobile network the recipient is connected to, such as Telstra, Optus, or Vodafone. The network is then responsible for delivering the message to the phone. If the phone is switched off or out of reception, the message can remain in this state until the phone reconnects or the message expires.

Delivered means the message has been successfully delivered to the recipient’s phone.

Not Delivered means the message could not be delivered. In most cases, this happens because the phone number is not currently connected to the mobile network. This can occur if the service is suspended or disconnected.

Scheduled means the message has been set to send at a later time. It will stay in this state until the scheduled send time is reached, after which the status will update as the message is processed.
