How the free trial works (free credits, limits, what’s included)

Understand what’s included with a new Mobile Message account, how free credits work, and what changes when you purchase SMS credits.

What you get when you sign up

Every new Mobile Message account starts with 50 free SMS credits.

A new account is a full Mobile Message account, not a limited trial. The free credits are provided so you can test sending messages, receiving replies, and exploring the platform before purchasing credits.

There is no time limit on the free credits.

Sender options on a new account

New accounts can send messages from:

  • a shared number, provided for testing

  • the mobile number added to your account

The shared number supports replies and delivers them to the Messenger. It is intended for testing only.

When sending from your own mobile number, replies are delivered back to your phone and do not appear in Mobile Message.

How free credits work

Free credits work exactly the same way as purchased credits.

Messages are charged based on:

  • message length (SMS parts)

  • character type (standard characters vs Unicode)

Longer messages and messages containing emojis or special characters use more credits.

What you can do with free credits

With the free credits, you can send real SMS messages, receive replies when using the shared number, view message history, and test the Messenger and reply workflow.

The account behaves the same way it will after you go live.

Using Mobile Message for live messaging

To use Mobile Message for live or customer-facing messaging, you must purchase SMS credits.

After purchasing credits:

  • a dedicated number is available at no cost

  • messages can be sent from the dedicated number

  • replies are delivered to the Messenger

  • the account is ready for ongoing, real-world use

Continuing after the free credits

There is nothing to activate or upgrade.

When you are ready to continue using Mobile Message, simply purchase SMS credits. Your account, settings, and message history remain unchanged.
