Can I Send SMS Messages to International Numbers?

No. Mobile Message only supports sending SMS messages to Australian mobile numbers.

Why international SMS is not supported

Mobile Message is focused entirely on Australia. Supporting international SMS requires separate carrier contracts and regulatory compliance in each country, which adds significant cost and complexity.

Rather than offering a limited or unreliable international service, we focus on providing a high-quality, compliant, and reliable SMS service for Australian businesses.

Workaround for international messaging

A common and effective approach is to:

• Use Mobile Message for all Australian SMS traffic
• Use another provider specifically for international SMS

This gives you the best possible delivery and compliance in Australia while still allowing you to send messages internationally when needed.

Australian phones roaming overseas

We do support sending messages to Australian phone numbers that are roaming overseas. In this case, we hand the message to the Australian mobile network where the phone is usually connected (Telstra/Optus/etc), then they will pass the message to the international network where the phone is currently connected.
