What format should my numbers be in?
You don’t need to worry too much about how your phone numbers are formatted. Mobile Message is flexible and will accept Australian mobile numbers in almost any common format.
For example, all of the following formats are accepted:
- 0400000000 (local format)
- 400000000 (missing the leading zero)
- +61400000000 (international format)
- 61400000000 (international format without the plus)
- 610400000000 (international format without the plus, with leading zero)
- 0400-000-000 (with punctuation)
- Number: 0400000000 (with extra text)
When numbers are imported or entered into the platform, we automatically clean and normalise them. Internally, we store and use numbers in international format without the plus (for example, 61400000000), regardless of how they were originally entered.
This means you can upload contacts or enter numbers without needing to manually reformat them first.
