Scheduling an SMS Message

Learn how to schedule an SMS message in Mobile Message so it is sent automatically at a specific date and time.

Updated today

Mobile Message lets you schedule SMS messages to be sent at a later date and time. This is useful for promotions, reminders, announcements, and time-sensitive messages that need to be delivered at the right moment.

A video walkthrough is available at the top of this article.

Selecting your recipients

To schedule a message, start by selecting who will receive it.

  1. Go to Send Messages

  2. Click Lists

  3. Select the list of customers you want to message

  4. Click Add Selected

All contacts in the selected list will be added as recipients.

Choosing the sender

Next, confirm the sender your message will be sent from. Make sure the sender shown is the one you want recipients to see.

Writing your message

Enter the content of your SMS message as normal.

As you type, Mobile Message will show:

  • Character count

  • Number of SMS parts

  • Credits used per recipient

This helps you understand the cost before scheduling the message.

Setting the message to send later

By default, messages are set to send immediately.

To schedule the message:

  1. Change the Time option from Now to Later

  2. Select the date you want the message sent

  3. Select the time you want the message sent

Time zone information

Scheduled messages use your account’s local time zone.

Your current time zone is displayed below the date and time selector so you can confirm it before sending. This ensures messages are delivered when you expect them to be.

Scheduling the message

Once everything is set:

  1. Review the recipients, sender, message content, date, and time

  2. Click Send Messages

Your message will be queued and automatically sent at the scheduled time.

Important notes

  • Scheduled messages are sent automatically and do not require you to be logged in at the time

  • Credits are used when the message is scheduled, not when it is sent

  • You can schedule messages for any future date and time

Scheduling messages allows you to plan campaigns in advance and deliver messages at the most effective time for your customers.
