Can I port a phone number to or from Mobile Message?
No. Mobile Message does not support number porting in either direction.
Porting a number to Mobile Message
You cannot port an existing phone number to Mobile Message. We do not accept inbound ports from other carriers or providers.
Porting a dedicated number away
Dedicated numbers assigned by Mobile Message cannot be ported out to another provider. These numbers are owned and managed by our upstream carrier and are not eligible for transfer.
Get a free dedicated number instead
Every Mobile Message account receives a free dedicated Australian mobile number after making their first credit purchase. This gives you a number to send from and receive replies to, without needing to port anything. If you are switching from another provider, your free dedicated number is a ready-made replacement.
For details on claiming yours, see How to get your free dedicated number.
Using your own number as a sender
If you want messages to appear as though they were sent from your existing mobile number, you can add it as a sender in Mobile Message. Your number stays with your current carrier — no porting is involved. You simply verify that you own the number, and then select it as your sender when composing messages.
For setup instructions, see Can I send SMS messages from my own number?.
