Viewing and exporting message history
The History page gives you a complete record of every outbound message, inbound reply, and unsubscribe on your account. You can use it to check delivery results, search for specific messages, and export data for reporting.
Navigating to History
Click History in the main menu. By default the page shows the last 30 days of messages, sorted by most recent first.
Filtering by status
Use the Status dropdown to show only messages with a specific status — for example, only delivered messages or only inbound replies.
For an explanation of what each status means, see Understanding message delivery statuses.
Viewing unsubscribes from a campaign
To see who unsubscribed from a specific campaign, select Unsubscribes from the Status dropdown. You can narrow results further using the date range picker or search box to isolate a particular send. Click Export CSV or Export Excel to download the filtered results.
This is the best way to check unsubscribe activity for a specific campaign. The Contacts > Unsubscribes page shows your full account-wide unsubscribe list, but does not break it down by campaign.
Filtering by date range
Click the Date Range picker to choose a preset (such as Last 7 Days or Last 30 Days) or set a custom range. The table updates immediately to show messages within that period.
What each row shows
Each row in the history table includes:
- Sender — the sender ID or number the message was sent from
- Recipient — the contact name (if saved) and phone number
- Message — a preview of the message content and the credit cost
- Status — the current delivery status
- Date — the date and time in your account's timezone
- Sent by — who or what sent the message (sub-user email, API username, integration name, or "Account Owner")
Exporting your history
Click Export CSV or Export Excel to download the messages that match your current filters. The export includes all matching records, not just the ones visible on the current page.
The export includes detailed contact information for each message:
- First Name, Last Name, Company, Other — standard contact fields
- Custom fields — any custom contact fields you have configured (such as "Date of Birth" or "Department") are included as additional columns, using your custom field names as headers
- Direction — shows whether each message was Outbound, Inbound, or an Unsubscribe
- Sent by — identifies who or what sent the message: a sub-user's email, an API username, an integration name (e.g. "HubSpot", "3CX"), or "Account Owner" for messages sent by the main account holder
For inbound messages and unsubscribes, the contact fields show the sender's contact data (the person who sent the reply), not the account's sender ID.
Exports are useful for:
- delivery reporting and campaign analysis
- billing reconciliation
- compliance auditing
- importing delivery data into your CRM or other tools
Searching for a specific message
Use the Search box to filter by recipient number or contact name. Combine this with the status and date range filters to quickly find what you need.
